How To Use Step 1: Remove the pH Indicator Strip from its packaging. To avoid contamination, handle the strip only by the edges or tabs provided. Place the strip on a flat surface, ensuring it remains flat and not bent or creased.
Step 2: Immerse the pH Indicator Strip into the sample solution for 15-30 seconds. Submerge the strip 1-2 cm below the surface of the liquid to facilitate accurate reading. Use a clean container or cup for the sample, and ensure the strip is not touching any surfaces that might affect the reading.
Step 3: After 15-30 seconds, carefully remove the strip from the sample solution and gently shake off any excess liquid. Place the strip at eye level, allowing it to dry for at least 10 seconds. This will prevent any remaining moisture from affecting the color change.
Step 4: Compare the pH Indicator Strip with the provided color scale on the packaging or on the strip itself. Match the dominant color on the strip with the corresponding pH value on the color scale. Ensure the strip has fully dried before taking the reading.
Step 5: Record the pH reading from the strip, taking note of the corresponding pH value on the color scale. Repeat the process with multiple strips for increased accuracy, if necessary. Store any unused strips in their original packaging to maintain their shelf life and prevent contamination.
